Multiple Hurt as Rough Air Impacts Delta Plane Arriving in Sydney, Australia

Multiple passengers and crew have been injured when a Delta Airlines jet traveling from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia was hit by significant turbulence this past Friday.

The flight, numbered 41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it landed at Sydney Airport, an airline spokesperson stated. Four flight attendants were injured.

Local paramedics stated they assessed five patients, and transported three of them to a medical facility with relatively minor issues that such as back pain and headaches. Those affected were between their 30s up to the 70s.

The event represents the latest incident of planes experiencing turbulence, with experts pointing out that global warming is a significant contributor.

On board were nearly 250 travelers and fifteen staff members on the wide-body jet, the official noted, adding that the plane arrived "safely and normally" at Sydney Airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on Friday.

Paramedics reported they were alerted just three minutes ahead of the plane landed, and ambulances were standing by on the runway.
